Satoru Mikami lives an ordinary life-he is a regular Tokyo-based office worker with a monotonous life. He was walking down the street with his friend one day, when an unidentified attacker mistakenly assaulted him. As he gains consciousness he is accidentally reincarnated into an unfamiliar realm as a goop of slime. He then runs into Veldora, a storm dragon that, after reducing a town to ashes, has been locked away for 300 years and intends to make friends with him. Veldora gave protection in exchange, and named him after Rimuru Tempest. Rimuru 's story then moves on as he attempts to get used to his current self, pulled away from his former life and finally change his destiny.
